Horrible
My family and I went to this resort because it was close to Florida and reasonably priced. In the end, we should have gone someplace else. The hotel needs work, rooms should be redone, electrical needs attention. The bathrooms were old and the air...
By appearances, Breezes Puerta Plata is a lovely place - that's about all I can say that is positive. I am not an elitist by any sense of the word, but I have traveled quite a bit and have never stayed in such a sub-standard supposed "resort....
We traded our timeshare to go to Breezes, so we had the cost of food and drink ($632) and of course airfare, and exchange fee of $164.00 from RCI. We both were very disappointed in the Resort, it was a Beauiful place. The ocean was red flagged...

Before having the privilege of visiting the fine beach side resort, Breezes Puerta Plata, I, like yourself, read through numerous reviews in hopes of getting an idea of the experience ahead. I found there were many good reviews but unfortunately also many reviews which were filled with complaints, moans and growls about everything from the rooms, the service to the chairs. It seems we live in a world where people don't hesitate when it comes to complaining but seem too busy when it comes to praise. I am writing here today, only to compliment Breezes Puerta Plata and the amazing experience my family and I had on our visit. We were greeted by kind, friendly staff from day one and continued to receive great service throughout our stay. Our room was of the lowest price range, but you wouldnt know it, as we were located centrally between the pool and beach (as well as beach bar), with a lovely balcony over looking the resort. Our room was kept clean, well stocked with soda and water, clean towels, as well as a feeling of completly safety and security. I wont go into great detail because in all honesty, we had no complaints. The food was great, lots to choice from, same goes for drinks. So many activities to participate in, if you so choose. Free shuttles into the lovely neighboring towns. Gorgeous, huge pool, kept very clean. Lovely little beach, very private, unlike many other resorts. Lots of bars all over the resort. Food available 24/7. The whole resort was flourishing with palm trees, flowers and other native Dominican plants. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather for our entire stay but unfortunately that wont always be the case so please, if the weather inst exactly as you hoped, remember, there is no one to blame, so just grab your drink, scoot around a roof and enjoy the sound and the warmth of the beautiful tropical rain. In case you think we are one of the rare families that had such an amazing experience, let me tell you that in our entire stay we did not come across one other person that was not having a good time. If you do choose to go there (and I think you should!!!) and do have complaints, please take the time to think, Am I just being a spoiled, snotty Westerner? or do you in fact have a genuine complaint to make. In conclusion, it is an amazing resort, great staff, great time. Enjoy your stay!! I am sure you will!!!!!

I was at the breezes Puerto Plata for 2 weeks, room where ok, service was great, food was of great quality but there was a cook putting cilantro ^ corriande every where you could not expect to find it. example in green peas every day. There was some in one of the 2 soups but which one. there was a Mexican restaurant there, they had the honesty to write on the menu which plate had cilantro. I the breezes want to be international you have to stop using it. the quality of food is great why spoil it .

Our family of 4, loved the Breezes so much last Nov. 2006, that we are going again the end of Nov. 2007 and bringing with us 3 friends. Plus there was a group we meet last year at the same time that are also returning same time..
There is lots to do for every age, our daughters now 16, 17, can't wait to go back. Food at buffets was exceptional and the a la cartes were 1st class, well done to the staff and hotel management....We stayed in a hotel room by the ocean with pool view,,,but I would like to stay in the cottages on the ocean front,,,,Can't say enough but you must go....Free Shuttles to towns a bonus, Thank You for that......nice to go for a morning....
Beware! You have been warned.

Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone else who took the time to put up these reviews. It was a massive help when we were deciding on which hotel to go for. I thought it only right to add my 2 pennies worth :-)
