My husband and I wanted a quick weekend getaway but found we would have been more comfortable at home. We do not expect all lodgings to be absolutely first rate and are willing to put up with some inconveniences but we were pretty unhappy with Breakers.
We took cold showers both days we were there. I spoke with other guests who complained of same. Another guest told me he thought the toilet in his room was going to come loose from the floor.
There was no remote control for our TV. We asked at the desk and were told there simply was not a remote for our room.
There is no ice machine readily accessible. One must ask for ice at the desk. After about 10 pm, there is no one at the desk. Tough luck.
We were surprised to find out that check-out time is 10 am. I have never been to anyplace calling itself a "resort" which did not have at least an 11 am or noon check-ot time. Late check-outs here are $40 extra.
Be advised that the restaurant they boast about is reservation only. The lounge closes at about 10 pm even on Friday and Saturday night.
The rooms are okay except for the strange, unstable looking vinyl chairs and there was absolutely no counter space around the sink for toiletries/make-up, etc.
There is no vending machine for snacks, but there is one for beverages.
The parking lot is neither paved nor covered with gravel so be advised that if you must traverse it during a rain shower, as we did, you will sink into the muck.
Reservations for rooms require a 30% non-refundable deposit and we arrived to find our credit card had already been charged the full amount or our two-day stay with the receipt waiting for our signature.
We cannot recommend this place.
