Created in 1927 by the great hotelier E.M. Statler as a grand American hotel, it was called a "city within a city". Today it takes pride in serving Boston as a destination itself, housing under one roof some of Boston's most famous restaurants and lounges, including Todd English's Bonfire Steakhouse, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and Smith & Wollensky's Steakhouse located in The Castle at Park Plaza, beauty salon/barber shop, Business Center, full-service concierge, fitness center, shoe shine and more. Enter the hotel's palatial Grand Lobby and you'll experience the grace and warmth that is its signature whether serving Afternoon Tea in Swan's Caf? or hosting a convention or gala dinner for 2,000. The hotel was designed for celebrations from its Imperial Ballroom with sparkling crystal chandeliers, gilded balconies and proscenium arch stage accommodating 2,000 to the more intimate setting for 50 in the historic Boston atmosphere of the oak-paneled Hancock Room. The Executive Chef and his staff creatively assist in menus from special requests to kosher catering.

Rooms are tiny with paper thin walls. You can hear everything in the rooms next to your own and in the hallways. If a door opens or closes in your hallway you'll hear it like you were right next to it. The bathrooms are outdated. The rooms are...
From trouble making the reservation, to not being able to check in at 3 (ended-up getting a room at 4 after persistently being blow-off by the staff for 1.5 hrs), and then being charged for no-show I didn't even book. This was the worst hotel...

Horrible
Well, I'll start with the one positive thing about this hotel. It was within walking distance of Grill 23 (the wonderful steak house my boyfriend and I dined at for Valentines Day). With that being said, I'm moving on to the the negatives. We...
26 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for business
This hotel has clearly seen better days. When I came, it was overrun by high school students; the walls are paper thin and did nothing to muffle my very loud adolescent neighbors. But that can happen anywhere. What was particularly unsatisfactory

Great hotel, we loved it! The staff was very friendly, pleasant, and accommodating. I called the morning we were checking in to ask if our room had enough room for a crib, as you never know. We were 2 adults, and 2 small children. They told us the

The lobby was beautiful and the fresh bouquet of Lilies filled the entire area. Then it was down hill ...when they gave us a room we did not register for and did not tell us. We stood in a long registration line twice. They tried to fit us into a ...
We hated this place from the beginning. The bathroom could not even fit an averaged size person!!! Also the staff is VERY rude and unaccomodating. STAY AWAY!!! I would have rather slept in my car.
The lobby and front desk had the feel of a luxurious 5-star hotel, but the room certainly did not. The hallways, carpeting, and doors were old and outdated. The service was great. Another thing I would complain about is the speed of the elevators...
