Beautiful, well-appointed hotel

The extra touches in this hotel are what really make it stand out. The room had comfortable furnishings and a seating area for meals and work. Some views open directly onto Fenway Park across the Turnpike. Kenmore Square is a very busy student and commercial area, so there is some traffic noise (and although there wasn't a game while I was here, I imagine the crowds make some as well) but the luxurious accommodations outweigh it. Steps to public transportation all over the city.

Sometimes I wonder if other hotels are the ones writing some of the reviews on these hotel review sites. My wife and I stayed at the Buckminster Hotel for a weekend in March of this year and found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional. The Buckminster describes itself as an economical hotel and that is exactly what it is. If you want room service or turn down service, this isn't the hotel for you. If you are looking for a reasonable room rate and a clean room, this hotel is just the place. I would recommend the Buckminster without hesitation. Just don't go there expecting four star accomodations on the cheap.
I am
very likely
to return to the Boston Hotel Buckminster.
I
would definitely recommend it to
friends.

This hotel is conveniently located in Kenmore square, but it is stinky and dirty. I found another hotel nearby to be cleaner and cheaper... the Best Western Terrace Inn - Boston http://www.bostonbw.com/ with free parking and free continental breakfast.

I loved my stay at the Buckminster! I only stayed one night and wished that I could have stayed a week. I had made plans to go to a Sox game, and I was really worried about booking this hotel because of reviews that I had read on this site, and other travel sites. I have nothing to complain about. We stayed on the 6th floor and had a great veiw of Fenway. The hotel is old but not dirty. The room we stayed in was large, and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Also, the wooden shutters blocked out the noise from the street. The next time I stay in Boston, it will be at the Buckminster.

I am sitting in the "Hotel Junkmaster" right now. My butt is breaking from the 100 year old chair. The bed has a $10.00 bargain mattress full of springs and bumps. My room faces the highway and it sounds like I am inside the Sumner tunnel. They should tear this building down and build a grand Hyatt or something. If this hotel was in New York the health department would shut it down.
