Passing by numerous times we always see people at the pool and the front rooms seem to be kept up nicely. We secured our room with a credit card a week prior to arriving. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 5:55, lucky (or unlucky) for us the desk clerk informed us that had we not arrived by 6 she would have given away our room. What kind of policy is that???? She told us that the other person who takes the reservations sometimes forgets to inform the customers reserving the rooms about this policy. Sure enough when we got back home there was a message from sometime that afternoon informing us that they were giving away our room if we weren't there by 6. Talk about ridiculous. Anyway, back to the room... it was pretty much what we had read in the prior reviews. Very outdated. Holes and marks all over the walls. Top of refrigerator all rusted over. Looked like some sort of sealed over "blood" stains on the floor near the toilet. Bugs on the floor. I knew there would be no other places available so late on a Saturday evening during the summer season so I got to work cleaning. Luckily I brought along my own sheets and blanket and cleaning supplies for the bathroom. It was almost bearable to stay there after my cleaning spree. The only positive thing I can say is that the bed was comfortable. The towels in the bathroom had dark stains on them so we used our own. The people in the room above us were very noisy. All kinds of noises coming from our ceiling. Luckily we had to leave at 5 AM so our time in the room was minimal. I think they keep the front 10 or so rooms fairly well kept to trick customers into staying there. There is a policy that states up to 15 minutes after check in can you get a refund. I'm not so sure sleeping in the car wouldn't have been such a bad idea. I would never stay there again. It was one of the worst places that I have stayed in over my extensive travels.
