60 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I am ashamed to say we did not leave when we were shown our first rather rundown and dark room. The second room was only marginally better. The dining room was meager and the food below average. We are horse people and chose Bishop's Lodge in part because they advertised themselves as being a good place to ride. We were appalled at the conditions the horses were kept in and saddened to see the condition of these animals. We will not be back and urge you to stay away.
The spa manager Antoinette is down right rude. We had to wait 30 min past our appointment time and the spa manager ask us if we would like to go somewhere else. TRUST US...NEXT TIME WE WILL! She has the worst attitude and from reading the other...
40 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The rooms pictured on their website and in their literature are not the rooms that you get. Instead the rooms are old and filthy and haven't been updated in at least 20 years. Their manager's excuse was that is was a "historic" hotel. Our rooms were filled with smoke three nights because the smoke from the fireplace in the room above ours flooded into our rooms so thick that we could barely see or breathe. Not to mention the fact that the smoke alarms never once went off! Our clothes and suitcases were so smoke filled that when we unpacked at home, our entire house smelled of smoke! The property that the lodge is on is beautiful and the restaurant at the main lodge, though extremely pricey, had good food. Unfortunately, that did not out-weigh the misery of our smoke-filled stay. We will not be back.

The staff was incompetent on all levels...the concierge was never available, the keys to the rooms never worked, things to be corrected were not done, small things like free coffee service in the lounge was only done if the hotel was full,...
Nice location north of Santa Fe and the advertised activities sound fun. Unfortunately during our stay the staff jumped at every opportunity to cancel activities and found every excuse to avoid helping guests. Not what you would expect for the...
