THIS WAS HORRIBLE! We were scheduled for a 2 night stay for Preakness weekend. We had a family emergency and had to give up our Preakness tickets. I called to cancel our reservations 24 hrs ahead. I was told I had to do it 48 hrs...this was never me
When I chose this hotel, I thought it had two things going for it: low-moderate price for the area and some unique charms. In the end, neither was enough to compensate for the bad service and run-down furnishings.
It's an old house with certain upgrades. The individual climate control worked really well and helped drown out the noise from other guests. There is also a fridge and a kitchenette in the room. But while not much is new in the place, most of the furnishings also aren't old enough to be true period pieces. So despite some imaginative retro-themed decorating, it's not that nicely furnished and frankly some parts are in disrepair. On top of that the maid service is poor, the staff isn't especially professional (got a rude call on my last day asking when I was leaving), and apparently for security purposes all guests have to ring a buzzer just to get in the front door.
It would be adequate if you're not fussy and just want a roof over your head in a place that's not too scary, but beyond that this place is disappointing. It's definitely not the cheapest in town yet the quality is bottom-rate.

Interesting neighborhood, close to museum. In disrepair, no hot water. Interesting place, lots of history but room was in disrepair. Tables and nightstands had many burns in them and looked bad. No hot water and room is rather small.

The staff is friendly and helpful;the hotel isn't in a good neighborhood. The hospital is 1 block away and also where you park your car. The place is very old and needs a major overhaul. The "elevator" is an old service lift, barely holds 2 people...
