We just didn't thing we would get this lucky with no research. Doing a one-nighter on the cheap before a cruise, we stayed at the 'Best Western on the Bay' in North Bay Village. When asking our shuttle driver for a good, cheap seafood place, he said, "The restaurant right at the hotel!" I thought, "Yeah, right." Well, blow me down... In many ways, Shuckers was just what my wife and I were looking for... Dockside, lots of locals having a good time (crowded all Friday evening), open late, a special ala carte Happy Hour menu with lots of great selections, tasty food and very reasonable. We consider it a real find. Granted, it is a diamond in the rough given the attire of the female servers (inappropriate in most restaurants) and the beer was flowing all around us. But this was as advertised--a bar & grill. However, the servers and managers were friendly and attentive and no one was boisterous or rowdy. Everyone was just enjoying good food, pretty setting, and a nice breeze. I will look forward to returning in another week to try some of the menu selections I just didn't have room for this time. The check at the end (gratuity automatically included at 15%) brought a big smile... Fried calamari, buffalo wings, fiesta rolls, sweet fish something (almost the consistency of finely chopped chicken salad and comes with tortilla chips and celery), BBQ riblets, Snickers cheesecake and two bottomless root beers came to just $30. It is kind of hard to find but easy when you know it is located on the premises of the Best Western on the Bay in North Bay Village.
