Unfortunately the number of dead bugs hanging from the ceiling suggested the cleaning was poor. After moving the desk to locate the socket for my lap top the amount of litter I found confirmed the rooms are not cleaned very well.

The hotel has an on-site restaurant which offers mediocre food at a reasonable price but if you value service you may wish to give it a miss. The phrase "I'm sorry" was something often used by the serving staff.

The good points? The laundry area was good and the outdoor pool was clean and heated.

- The front desk won't allow us to check-in until 4 pm., we have to wait for one hour and 15 minutes.

- They have free internet service just ask about the cable when check-in.

- Do not expect much customer service from the front desk.

- The room I stayed in was all the way in the back, it has balcony.

- Cleaniness of the room is decent.

- Towels are okay too.

- Ice machine located in my building always went out when I needed. Walked to the building located across from the indoor pool.

- This hotel is pet friendly, I saw lots of people bring their pets along.

- The B.B.Q. Restaurant, their ribs are pretty good.

The amenities are a bonus - refrigerator and microwave in the $100 room. Free internet. A nearby grocery store, on site laundraumat, pool, spa were nice. The other two places near the west and north-east gates of Yosemite were 1.5 times more expensive.

This hotel is not anything special but it is in a good location for Yosemite and Bass Lake. We have been staying here for years and we always get good service, what we expect from Best Western hotels. The outdoor pool could be updated and the spa could be bigger but overall it is a nice hotel for the price and location.

It was a pleasant stay even with the blockage of drive due to repaving. There was no hassle at early check in. The staff was helpful.
