The 12th Century Best Western Walworth Castle is set on 18 acres of lawns and woodlands, and is located just three miles from the A1(M) Highway. This really is the ideal venue to get away and relax. Whether it be for an overnight break visiting the North Yorkshire Moors, historic Durham Cathedral, shopping at the Metro Centre or attending a conference or team building event, The Best Western Walworth Castle has a unique blend of 12th century charm with 21st century facilities, offering four poster tower suites with double JacuzziŽ baths, an award winning restaurant or the more traditional Farmers Bar with a real log fire during winter months. We are extremely popular for wedding receptions, as a full package can be offered. We have a civil ceremony license, and our hotel manager acts as your personal coordinator, and can arrange anything to make your special day perfect. The castle acts as a perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs. So whether it is a conference, wedding reception, or just looking for that quiet break away. We are a totally non-smoking property. The Best Western Walworth Castle could be the ideal venue you have been searching for.

41 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We stayed here for the New Year period and as most of the rooms in the castle were booked we had to opt for a 4-poster en-suite room which was double the normal tariff. However, as we were getting ready for the New Year celebrations, we realized the shower was not working (there was no hot water).
The hotel manager was called and we had to settle for using the facilities of a single room in the awful hotel annexe-we could not change rooms as the hotel was fully booked. The next morning we complained-we paid £160 per night-surely the facilities in the room should be in full working order for this price?
In addition to this there were no towels in the room, the window could not be closed, the general condition was dark, very cold, dusty and unclean. Not the level of standards you would expect for the price we paid!
The manager promised to phone us but has not done so to this date. An email sent via Best Western Hotel customer services suggests a total lack of interest in resolving our issues and the manager has even lied to cover himself.
Is this really customer satisfaction? We haven't even received any apology from the manager at Walworth Castle.
