We got to Tampa for the first time, visiting Busch Gardens and then to a show at St. Pete Times Forum.
We stayed at the BW the first night, with reservations for the other two nights already made at the Clarion nearby. The first night at the BW was good, the property is beautiful and the room was a suite, as they all are at this property, but the bed felt uncomfortable to me. My companion had no complaints.
We went to Busch Gardens the next day, left and went to the Clarion. We stayed there less than ten minutes. Don't believe the pictures on the web.
After some driving around to see what we could find closer to the St. Pete Times Forum, we decided to head back to the Best Western. We checked in for our last two nights there, already knowing we liked the place, except for me and the bed the first night. We got a different room, and I had no trouble at all with the bed. It felt like a home away from home, with a bar and a pool and a hot tub in the garden. There was a small balcony thru the bedroom. Everyone was extremely friendly. It was great.
On the morning we checked out, we decided to have a quick drink at the bar before leaving. Neither of us wanted to leave.
This Best Western is where I will stay if I ever go back to Tampa. You could pay a lot more for a lot less, as I found out with the Clarion.
If you're going to Busch Gardens, this is the one.

It was clean and close to our car rental agency. All the amenities were near to us - such as car cleaning equipment and a gas bar and restaurants. It was a great place to stay before we came back to Canada on our last night's stay in Tampa, Florida!
