Our stay last summer was pretty poor here. We were in town for a family member's very important navy ceremony. They did not do anything at this hotel to make us feel welcome. When we arrived, we were rudely told that there was no way for an early check in. That is fine, but they were not at all nice about it when we asked.
We were told many times to be quiet when we were sitting in the courtyard chatting. For the money, we did not feel it was a good value. Sure, there was a continental breakfast, but there are only about 10 chairs in the courtyard, so you couldn't sit down there and enjoy your food; we had to take ours back to our room. We had a mix up with the rates and they were very impatient and rude to us. It seemed the front desk just didn't care at all about customer service.
We are returning for another navy ceremony in a few weeks and even if the price was lower (which it isn't), we wouldn't consider staying here. We'll go into San Diego and drive across the Coronado bridge. The rooms were okay; the a/c was either way too cold or too warm. I wouldn't say it is the place to stay; the price for what you get is just not a very good value.
If they had better attitudes at the front desk, then I might consider another stay there.
