My sister and I stayed in this hotel while I was visiting Mayo. The front end staff was wonderful, and so was the cleaning staff. We loved the suite. Each of us had our own room. The bus system operated by the hotel for it's clients only was fantastic, and saved us a lot of time.
Our only problem was the most rude and scary waiter I have ever encountered in all of my life while we were having dinner. We asked for our check from another waiter because of very poor service we received after our meal. We asked that our waiter not bring it. He came to our table very confrontational and refused to leave. He even put his bare hands on my sandwhich type food to put it in take out boxes. I had to call out for the manager, for which he replied that he was. (he wasn't) The whole time we were talking to the manager he loomed near by jeering at us. She asked us to leave our name and room number and I told her, "No way, that guy is capable of doing anything." This guy scared me, and I don't scare easily. I teach 5th graders! We did make contact with the actual manager of the restaurant. He was very pleasant. I suggested that he do a background check on this waiter. He had too much rage for this to be a one time incidence. We did not eat at this restaurant the rest of the time we were there. (even though they had an excellent free morning breakfast) Our food for the night in question was excellent. We were not charged for it. A free meal did not releive my uneasiness and frankly my fright over the incident.
When we first arrived at BW Soldiers Field, the desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. They had no problems finding our reservations and assisting us to our room. I simply cannot say enough about their shuttle service. Anywhere ~ Anytime ~ Very convenient. We used the shuttle frequently and NEVER waited longer than 10 minutes for our ride. The best part about the shuttle service was the drivers. They were all very courteous, but for us, they had a unique ability to make you laugh~which lightened the heaviness of the Mayo Clinic. I will NEVER stay anywhere but the Best Western Soldiers Field ~ Rochester, MN
Will choose Solders Field for all return trips

Patient at Mayo Clinic. Excellent service, from room care to shuttle service which takes patrons to needed appts on time and with a smile. Kudos to Gwen and her team. Restaurant menu selection good. Breakfast excellent.

Someone commented on the 3 seperate buildings, that is true, but it also made it a very quiet place to stay. We all got a very good nights sleep. We will be staying there again. The shuttle service is wonderful. We flew into Rochester, and never...
