Our two-night stay was very comfortable: a quiet, ample room with a king-sized bed and within walking distance of several restaurants, including next door to a good Chinese restaurant. We would consider returning on our next visit down the coast.

We needed a clean and inexpensive hotel for a short family vacation. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. They had a nice continental breakfast as well. Would definitely stay there again.

My family just came back from a day at San Luis Obispo. We stayed at the Best Western Royal Hotel. It was a wonderful stay. The two adjoining rooms we stayed in were clean and very pleasing to stay in. My kids loved the exercise room and heated pool and jacuzzi. The continental breakfast was very tasty. Staff was curteous and helpful. Great Place! 02/18/08

Our ten day stay at Royal Oak Best Western Hotel at San Luis Obispo, CA was wonderful! The staff was courteous, housekeeping was great. Our room was absolutely the best. The entire hotel is very clean and neat at all hours of the day and night. We couldn't really evaluate the pool or the hotel dining, because we didn't use either of them, but they both look very clean and in good condition. We couldn't have asked for more. We have already recommended it to many of our friends. This is, without a doubt, one very fine hotel. Have no fears about booking a room at this hotel, it will be well worth the money spent.

Our bed was so comfortable! My boyfriend and I went for a romantic weekend getaway and it was perfect. It is located right across the street from many great shopping areas. I def. recommend this hotel.

The AAA book stated a price for a certain month, date, etc and when we got there they said it was thirty dollars higher. There was no special event going on at that time nor were the rooms at that price all booked up.

We have stayed in numerous hotels and motels in the San Luis Obispo area and Best Western Royal Oak is one of the best. It is well maintained, and is conveniently located close to shopping, the university, the beach, and wineries. We most recently stayed in the wing that has received updated furniture, and it was very nice. The pool area looks inviting, but we didn't have time to use it. A limited continental breakfast was available, but don't expect the restaurants and services available at a full-service hotel.
The way the room was decorated was very peaceful, plus it was clean and well maintained, so I wasn't worried about anything related to the room.

We always stay at this hotel. They provide excellent service, know us, and greet us by name, and we are allowed to bring our dogs when we want to!
The staff knows us by name and makes us feel very wanted. We stay their quite frequently, allow us to bring our two puppies when we want to. It is a wonderful hotel and we recommend it to everyone we know!
