Experience a classic piece of Americana. Eight sandstone cottages built in 1938, known as the Rail Haven Motor Court, started what is known today as the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven. This hotel is so full of history, you'll want to purchase your own copy of the book "Route 66 Rail Haven: An Offspring of the Mother Road", available in the lobby. Be our guest at this refurbished and historically charming inn nestled on acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on Old Route 66. Take your picture with the retired 1965 Best Western lighted road sign including the old five point crowned logo. And in keeping with the yesteryear atmosphere, try our Monroe or Elvis suites, each complete with a jetted tub. We offer a complimentary Hot Deluxe Breakfast, free WI-FI, a seasonal 24 hour pool and spa, and corporate rooms with queen beds and recliners. Whether your destination is Springfield, or you are traversing the Historic Route 66, the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven is the place to stay. I went there for my birthday and I loved the room. The lady at the counter that day gave me a cup of fresh picked red roses and a free candy bar. She was very kind and the rooms were beautiful. Also, everything was very clean and organized. There was also a free breakfast with delicious cereal and bagels. I highly recommend this place.

There were no light bulbs in any of the lamps, no alarm clock, there were four tissues left in the Kleenex box, the closet was broken. There were also sticky surfaces on the bedside table, no condiments with coffee, and the coffee pot was dirty. I was only able to get a full size bed for $105.00 for two nights, even though rooms were plentiful.
Check in was at 3:00 pm, I arrived at 2:45 pm, and I was told, "I don't know if room is ready yet, as another employee said that 30 rooms were available.
The Internet connection was down, and the final straw was key would not allow me back in room at 10:30 am, when checkout was not until 12:00 noon.
Once upon a time I stayed at this Inn exclusively, never again.

This motel might be OK if they wouldnt let so many local people and transients live there. If you are from out of town, beware. Its not the safest place to stay in. Spend 10 or 20 bucks more and go to the BW Coachouse Inn down the street, its much, much safer and some of the rooms are remodeled and more up to date. We won't ever stay here again!
