Best Western Roundhouse Suites Hotel - Page 2

I traveled with a group of 33 senior citizens and stayed 4 nights. We expected 2 Queen Beds and a sofa bed as advertised on several web sites, but the beds were doubles. Not a problem, but something to be aware of. The beds were very comfortable and the continental breakfast was better than we expected.

This is probably the only hotel I've stayed in that did not offer free local phone calls - a $20.00 deposit is required to make local calls. Don't know how much they charge for a call, but advise you have and use a cell phone. Very inconvenient. Some of the phones in some rooms didn't work at all; you couldn't even call the front desk.

If their shuttle is out of service, as it was during our stay, the charge for transportation to/from the airport is $5.00/person, with only 2 vouchers per room. Additional guests in a room pay $12.50. We had reserved the shuttle, after it was repaired, to take all of us to a scheduled dinner, but some guests that were not with our party got on the shuttle. We explained that we'd reserved it, but they complained to one of the desk clerks and she told us, in a rather rude fashion, that the shuttles were 1st come, 1st served and that we could not reserve it. However, all of us were waiting in the lobby prior to the time of scheduled departure, but she put the party that was waiting outside on ahead of us. So, some of us were late for our dinner party.

The traffic in Boston is terrible, so, if you take a taxi, hang on to your seats!

The taxi fares are very reasonable. Allow extra time and be somewhat familiar with the city, because many of the taxi drivers have no idea where anything is and the fares tend to run up. Example: several of our party split up and took two cabs to the same location at the same time. One of the trips was less than $6, but the other was over $8.

The check-in/out was easy and pleasant.

The price is reasonably for a hotel in Boston. The service desk staff is friendly and check in is very easy.

It’s a great place with a friendly staff and a generous sized room with nice in-room amenities. The street outside is a bit confusing, so be careful when driving in the area. I wish they had a bar, but they were kind enough to direct us across the street to one.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: It was a good room, couch, and bathroom.

The rooms were very small. There were three of us and we wanted a room with two queen size beds but they were double beds and the hotel didn't have any extra cots for us to use, so one of us always had to sleep on the floor. It was not worth the price.

We were visiting a relative in a nearby hospital. The van service was very helpful. The staff was very nice.

It was very convenient to the city. The shuttle service was excellent. I did have to call the front desk due to noise from the adjacent room which was young basketball players, and the desk did correct the problem. They had very good service overall.

This hotel made me feel welcome: Check in was very warm and friendly. The shuttle drivers were very interested in helping us to get to were we wanted to go.

We booked a room the night before and ended up getting it for half price! This place was really nice. It was clean and the staff was very friendly. There is also a continental breakfast for the guests. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to pick-up and drop-off the guests from the airport and the T stop (subway). Overall, it was a very nice stay.

Parking in Boston is at a premium, so having to park in a lot around the corner was not that much of a inconvenience. Having a courtesy van, continental breakfast and helpful staff was a big plus. Our original room's air conditioner was not working, but within 15 minutes the management had a new room for us (even though it was Labor Day weekend and they were sold out). Kudos to the hotel.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: Everything about this hotel -- service, courtesy, friendliness -- spells pampering.

I only stayed overnight. My stay was as expected. I got what I paid for.

The location was okay. The suites were nice because our group of five could all be in the same room. I liked the friendly staff and good breakfast in the morning.

It's a beautiful, wonderful old building. It had a very friendly and helpful staff. It was very conveniently located. It gives A+ service. I couldn't have asked for more!

I liked that they had free Internet access in the rooms and breakfast facilities in the lobby. Pickup and delivery from downtown Boston was good and very accommodating. I did not like the lack of good restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The hotel and service there were excellent. Only one problem: my daughter and I were ready for bed when what we thought was an alarm clock in a neighboring room began beeping. It was background noise, in the distance, but annoying. After listening to it for about 15 minutes, I decided to go out into the hall and figure out which room it was coming from so I could call the front desk and get someone to shut the alarm off. When I entered into the hall, I all of a sudden realized that it was no alarm clock beeping but rather a fire alarm! The rooms were so soundproofed that we had not been able to distinguish between the two. Immediately, we dressed and ran downstairs - only to find the firemen telling people it was safe to go upstairs.

I had trouble getting through on their telephone line, but they were generally very friendly during an otherwise stressful trip.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The front desk employees treated me like family when they noticed I was staying for a while. I was stuck in a blizzard, and they did all they could to keep us calm and relaxed.
