The Best Western hotel in Acapulco is a mediocre hotel for college Spring Breakers. However, I would not recommend going there on a vacation with children, there are better, more family oriented places where you can spend your money. A usual day at Best Western consists of an unappetizing buffet style breakfast, and then trying to fight for a chair to start relaxing by the pool or on the beach. Relaxing means dealing with every other person there being under 25 and drunk all day long. This isnt an atmosphere for young children. The buffet style lunch and dinner by the beach is just as unappetizing as breakfast. The rooms are clean and room service was a 7 on a scale from 1-10. The hotel says that each room
For spring breakers, the hotel offers free drinks from 10 a.m. until 10:30p.m. which is not a bad deal. There is a swim up bar in the pool and another bar down by the beach. If you are looking for a perfectly clean room with a fully stocked mini bar you are not going to find it here. If you simply need a bed to crash in for a few hours itll do just fine. The hotel is close to nightlife. There are a few good clubs within walking distance and even better clubs that are about an eight dollar cab ride away. If you get tired of the same food every day there are some places close by that are cheap. Do not waste money on the banana boat ride. It was not fun; the driver just drove in a big circle and told us it was over. Also, if you a lying on the beach beyond the hotel make sure you keep an eye on your possessions. The locals have been known to grab them while you are in the water and then ask you if you want to buy it back.
I stayed at the hotel this past spring break and thought it was great. But I went to drink, get tan and have fun with my friends and other people my age.
Warning: the day after I left there was a fire. Some of my friends were still there and they said that the smoke alarms and smoke detectors never went off. I suppose that is a risk you take anywhere, but it is something you should consider about this hotel.
