The hotel is clean as the pictures show, my room had two double beds in it. The room is a bit small, but for a one night stay for business travel, it's fine. The hotel is in Pioneer Square, and I was visiting a business only a few blocks away, so the location is optimal for that. Other, higher star hotels, are located further downtown, which is a short drive away.
I had some issues with my stay but, again, for business travel, it's bearable:
- Outside Noise: From my third floor room, I can hear some outside noise. Muffled shouting only occurred once, but even more so there were seagulls in the morning.
- Neighbor noise: I could hear other doors opening and closing from my hallway. Also in the morning I was woken up by other rooms' sounds of running water, like the shower.
- Heat: There is a room heater that didn't always work, so I woke up to a rather cool room.
- Ventilation: The very clean bathroom has a vent in it that is somehow piping in a smell from somewhere. Depending on your nose, it's either coffee or wet cigarettes. I had to keep the bathroom door open, since the bathroom is rather warm, so I could heat up the rest of my room. But that also meant that the coffee-like smell also wafted in.
Most of this could've been adjusted with a phone call or a room move, but I was tired enough to not bother.
- On the positive side there is a free breakfast, and free Wifi with a connection fast enough that makes it a non-issue
- The staff is friendly, and check-in was prompt
- The building that houses the hotel has character, as it's a brick building, as are most of the ones in Pioneer Square.
