28 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

When we arrived, that parking lot was so full we couldn't park anywhere even close to our room.

Our room was not what I would call clean, but certainly not what I would call dirty. I would say the bathroom was dirty, in which I responded to by calling the front desk and asking it be cleaned immediately, as we had been traveling for 10 hours.

Once the bathroom was cleaned to my satisfaction, my husband and I both decided to take a shower. We were met by scalding hot water, and then extremely cold water. No matter how we adjusted the water it blasted whatever it wanted. We called the front desk and were basically told that we did not know how to operate a shower, that they had never had this problem before. My husband told them that was very unlikely and that he wanted someone to come and look at it. We were in our room for the rest of the night. No one ever came and looked at it.

Late that evening we decided to go for a swim. It was June, so there should be no problem with a late night swim, especially in a supposedly heated pool. The pool was not heated! For the information of anyone with children the pool is oval shaped and is about 4 feet deep on either end and slopes toward the middle. I am 5'8" and by the time I got about an arms length away from the side, it was over my head. Needless to say, we did not stay for more than 5 minutes. We again called the front desk to ask about the pool. We were told it was checked every two hours by maintenance and that their log says it was 70*. I said your log is wrong to which they said "Okay".

I asked when maintenance was coming to look at our shower and I was told maintenance was gone for the night. I said how are we supposed to take a shower with the water messing up and she said I don't know. We were dead tired, so we didn't argue. Instead I said to cancel the rest of our reservation, that we wouldn't be staying the other three nights we had booked. She just said okay, no apology, no trying to change my mind.

The next morning we went to our free breakfast, before checking out. It was the most delightful experience of our stay up until the waitress cleaned her shoe with a rag and then washed the table with the same rag. I went directly to the front desk and told the manager. She said she would take care of it. When we checked out 10 minutes later, the manager was "not available".

I asked about all the previous complaints I had. Basically, we were told we were lying about each item, including the girl wiping her shoe, then the table. We were told "she said she didn't." I said, I refuse to pay until I speak to the manager. I was told the manager was again "not available," but that I could just put it on my card until I spoke with the manager later in the afternoon. The manager never called back.

I called the next day and every day after that until I finally got fed up and called headquarters. I was told they could give me a voucher to stay at the same hotel if I was unhappy. I said there is no way I will ever stay at that hotel again.

My advice, do not ever stay at this hotel!

39 year old man with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

This was the worst experience of any hotel that I have stayed in. It was old, smelly, and there are better hotels close by that cost the same. We booked two nights and got out after one night. This hotel reminded me of old truck stops.

I am not likely to return to the Best Western Pikes Peak Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.

42 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We booked the room two weeks in advance, and everything was okay. We called to confirm a week before arriving from Texas, everything was still okay. We called again an hour before arriving at the hotel, still fine. The room was not ready when we arrived. We sat in a hot lobby for 45 minutes while they prepared the room. We listened to other complaining guests.

They gave us the key finally, got to the room, and housekeeping was still in the room with the door opened. We waited another 30 minutes in the heat. We finally asked housekeeping to just leave.

The room was really tiny. There were bugs, and the heat and air conditioning came on together the entire stay. There was no parking. It was a horrifying experience.

I am not likely to return to the Best Western Pikes Peak Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.

We were very delighted with our stay. They let us have a king size room and they were very nice about it. They offered a nice buffet during the summer and it was very good. The only drawback was the pool. It was advertised as heated, but it was not. But the rooms were very clean and comfortable. All in all it was a fantastic deal.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: We were provided with towels with no question.

I am very likely to return to the Best Western Pikes Peak Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
