Best Western Oceanside Inn Fort Lauderdale Hotel

We stayed at this hotel several times in the past, but it had been at least 15 years since we had been back there. Back then it was maintained nicely, the breakfast was prepared in the kitchen and the french toast was out of this world. However....upon our arrival this time, in April, the hotel had deteriorated immensely. Another guest was complaining at the desk about his toilet not flushing the day before, and then this next day, it was now backing up! We were kept waiting for someone to help with our bags, & finally gave up and took them upstairs ourselves. When we opened the door to our room, we noticed it was very hot in the room. Outdoor temp was 86 degrees. I tried to turn the air conditioner on, however it was broke. I phoned the desk, they sent their 1 and only maintenance man up and he announced that it was broke and would take him a little time to take it appart and get it fixed. He left to get the parts, and we discussed the fact that we didn't want to stay at this hotel, didn't feel safe here and didn't want to ruin our vacation, so I went down to the desk and told them how disappointed we were in the hotel. They agreed to let us check out since the air wasn't working, so we left and went to a Beautiful full service hotel on Los Olas Blvd. The amazing thing was that the bill for that luxury hotel turned out to be $.55 less than the dumpy Oceanside was going to be for 4 nights! Unbelievable! Be sure and do your homework before booking at this hotel!

The rooms were clean but they had a strong mildew odor. The food was good. The internet access was a headache and not used.

They had lousy food and lousy high speed internet connection.

The location was good, the hotel was clean and the rooms were comfortable. I disliked that they charged for parking.

It's a good value for good accommodations.
