In January 2008, 14 of us rented 4 rooms.
Trying to get them to give us information prior to booking and then trying to get a group price was an exercise in frustration. It took 2 weeks for them to return my call, and the hotel itself gave us a better deal than central reservations.
All our rooms had security lock problems. One room had to have the entire lock system changed. All others had to constantly receive new pass cards-they would work one minute, then not the next time. Very aggravating. The rooms were not vacuumed; there was a smell in the hallways that never went away.
The hotel was noisy, only one elevator worked until the morning of our departure when they fixed the 2nd one. Used the stairs most of the time, which are in need of repair and are very narrow.
The pool area needed a good cleaning and paint job. The restuarant breakfast price was a rip-off. You couldn't just buy a piece of fruit- had to pay the full $13 buffet fee. The front desk staff was friendly, but seemed to have computer problems and checking in was very slow, and I'm sure they were frustrated seeing us and many others, complaining about the locks, the lack of towels, and other things.
BUT, the worst part was that 3 used condoms were found under one of the beds!
Best Western corporate has not answered our letters or emails.
We will never stay at one of their properties again.
