If you want a hotel with certain modern amenities like a pool and a health club, this isn't it; the hotel was built before those things became popular. That's one reason it's so charming. However, if you're the kind of person who likes to sit in a good hotel restaurant which always seems to have a lot of local people rather than order room service and eat alone, to visit the hotel bar and be part of a nice group, to walk out the door and be in a pleasant neighborhood with a couple of restaurants, a movie theatre and a very pleasant village park, you will enjoy the Mariemont Inn. I have stayed there often. Cincinnati is, in some respects, unique. The culture there is very family oriented, somewhat convervative, almost European in some ways, nice. You are very likely to experience it if you stay in this hotel.
While Mariemont is a suburb, it's only about ten miles from the center of town, via a fast parkway. There is a direct bus to downtown, and taxis are available, so you could stay here without a car almost as easily as downtown, for about half the price for a comparable room.
