28 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My cousin and I stayed here for Viva Las Vegas 11...horrible! The room was a decent size, sofa, kitchen, etc. The king-size bed she and I shared though was so old it had a big hole in the middle that she and I would instantly roll into! The water took nearly 10 minutes to get hot! Wet bar? Um, what wet bar??? There was a mini fridge with nothing in it. Although we did find two complimentary liters of water...well, complimentary if you paid $2.50/bottle! The "Privacy Please" hanger on the door meant nothing as we had two maids per day pounding on the door like maniacs, demanding to know if we wanted maid service! Oh and did I mention the daily energy charge? I know I take an extremely long time in the shower! But yet, we were charged everytime we turned on a light or watched t.v.? Not that I'm complaining about NOT being charged for water, it just seemed more likely to be charged for my water usage than for a lamp! Hmmm...a 4 day/3 night stay came to almost $400!!! We could've stayed on the Strip and been much better off! Walk, no, RUN from this hotel!

40 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Hadn't been to Vegas in over a decade and was driving into town calling around for an available room. Picked this hotel out of a AAA book and called. Told them we had 2 kids and wanted a good pool and walking distance to the strip. "We have a great pool and we're right off the strip" was the answer, so we reserved a room. A good start, but from there it went down hill fast.

1. Pool was freezing cold. I saw lots of people attempt, but only one person make it it and she packed a good deal of insulation. Jacuzzi was heated, but not working. Turns out pool does not have a heating system. (Kid's were very disappointed). But, at least their's the strip...

2. Turns out Hotel is 1/2 mile from the strip. Not right off the strip or walking distance in my book. They have a shuttle, but it runs only once an hour (not very convenient). Got conflicting advice from hotel staff about ability to park near the strip at other hotels. (At this point Dad is getting peeved).

3. Room has binder listing the various activities on the strip. We browsed it and picked out a few to check out. Luckily my wife called ahead to get better directions and found that they were no longer active attractions. One was closed for winter and not due to open until May (it was April), the other has closed over 6 months ago for remodel. Worthless binder of misinformation.

4. They serve a breakfast buffet, but unlike almost all Best Westerns it's not included in the price and costs $9 a head. Not worth it for what it was.

5. Iron leaked, toilet couldn't handle it, light bulb was out, sheets felt to be full synthetic (scratchy).

6. Hotel is old and need of a complete remodel. The only good point about it is the larger than normal room size. We had non smoking room, but smokers around us were abundant and you could not avoid it.

About the only good point I could say was the larger than normal room size.

After discovering all this I complained, but was repeatedly told there was no manager on premise and no way to call one. They said call back at certain time, we did and still no manager. This is a rather large hotel and no manager on site ever (sounds like a run-around to me).

I finally got "a" call when I wasn't available and they left a voice message. I called back, still no manager available. I finally got another call back from an assistant who offered to credit my card $40 dollars. I took them up on it as I figured I'd never hook up with someone who was really interest in hearing my complaints.

59 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed there in February and found the place could have been a little cleaner, carpets had stains on them however the rest of the room was clean. They could use new bedding, what was there was old and could certainly be refreshed. We had a room with the TV and couch separated from the bed, was good area to work on computer. Appreciated free internet, not having to pay $10. per day like in other places. Shuttle drivers very nice, casino very small and restaurant also tiny. Good meals. Would not be returning as whole Vegas experience not great. Prefer smaller places.

Room was OK... front elevator out of order... we were on 3rd floor. My traveling friend is 82! No bell hop, nor offer to help at all. Free shuttle to the Strip less than helpful. We still had a LONG walk to Caesars, and not a convienent time for returning.. got a reasonable cab. Main problem was over billing.. A charge For $286 showed up, next to the real charge of $62 (AAA rate on a Sunday). After phoning several times and emailing, the $286 charge was replaced with a bogus repeat of the $62... never again. Many Las Vegas places are helpful to their customers.

You definitely get what you pay for staying at this awful motel! With my experience there was coffee still in our coffee maker from previous guests, we didn't have our room cleaned the entire time we were there, there was soap scum still by the sink, and who knows the last time the bathroom floor was even swept!?!? Pieces of hair and toilet paper on the floor! DISGUISTING!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! VERY BAD SERVICE!! There are much better hotels for a cheaper price near the strip!
