I'm a single mom on a limited budget with a 12yr old daughter who was so excited to get to FL after school has let out for a whole week. I arrived at the hotel to find that they did not have my reservation updated in their system. Front Desk was extremely nonchalant and completely uniterested that I just wanted to get my luggage, daughter and self into my room to rest up a bit. There was a weak and best a limp attempt to contact my travel agency to get someone to confirm my reservations for a week and I was told to have a seat...after 15 mins I decided to call my agent directly and found out that the problem WAS on Best Western's end in 2 minutes and as soon as I hung up with my agent, TA-DA, I appear in their system. Ok, then I get an "upgrade" for the trouble "free of charge" to one of the rooms with the fireworks view...what an upgrade, it is the ONLY handicapped room they have in the whole hotel (LOL) and I get it with my 12-yr old daughter. The bellman was so sweet and nice and he said you should get another room and I said, uh no!...I'm not going to wait around again for that idiot downstairs, it was such a pain to have the bathroom with no tub but I was so done with the Front Desk and their lack of personality that I didn't even care as long as I could rest and sit. Rooms in general are not impressive and the amenities are a laugh (terrible t.v.) and housekeeping is slow! The restauarant has a great breakfast buffet and the food is pretty good and definitely the service is WAY more friendly than that joke of a Front Desk. The safe was broken and I never went into the bathroom without flip flops on because I don't think housekeeping did anything more than put fresh towels in there. The pool was nice enough but later in the afternoon, they don't pay attention to the towels building up or put clean towels out for you and this service is part of your "resort fee". LOL, I have stayed at a few hotels in Fla and I have to say that this hotel didn't even rank as well as the hotel I stayed in right after Hurricane Charlie and they didn't have t.v. for the entire week at all but oh my gosh, they were soooo nice and helpful! Some training is in order for Best Western's management and front desk dorks! The standard in this hotel is not nice enough to be called a Disney Resort Property Hotel, it lacks lustre, class and general appeal...I am just angry with myself for not going with my first choice and I decided on this one because someone recommended it to me. Never again!
