Poor
member icon desperately needs a makeover!

48 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We just came back from a stay at this hotel. The room was in desperate need of repair. The carpet had a large brown stain in the middle of the room. The metal ring around shower head was not attatched to the wall and the shower temperature continuously fluctuates while on; forcing you to constantly be either too hot or too cold. The temperature on the handle was backwards meaning if you want hot water you need to turn to the "C" and vice versa. The walls, counter and tile in the room and bathroom were dirty and stained and there was a dark dirty ring aroung the inside of the toilet. The sheets on the bed were very pilled and the housekeeper just put the mattress covers and fitted sheets halfway down the corners of the mattresses and inside out as if in a hurry or just too lazy to make the bed correctly.

The hotel is a big disappointment. We were advised by our travel agent that the hotel had recently been refurbished - we could not see where. The décor was very dated, and the carpet in our room was stained in several places. The air con leaked, and the bathroom was stained and old. Our companion's room was worse - the balcony door would not open and the shower was broken, which took a week to fix. The list could go on. The restaurant was poor, the buffet looked as if it had been out for several days, and in our two week stay it never improved. The pool was dirty and not heated as specified in the brochure -and listed one of the reasons you pay $7 a night extra (this is the resort fee which you will have to pay on arrival per room). The gym consists of 2 treadmills (both broken) and a few dated pieces of equipment. Location wise it is brilliant, you could not ask for better, but that is where it ends.

Considering how cheap the price is, this hotel was perfect. My friend and I went down for the week for Disney World. The room was clean, comfortable, and we had no problems. The shuttle service is wonderful; it comes every 30 minutes and is usually right on time. The hotel is in a great location--very close to Downtown Disney. Obviously this is not a luxury hotel or anything, but if you're looking for a place to spend the night and go to the parks during the day, it's great. The beds were super comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. My only complaints would be that the walls are pretty thin and the TV has very few channels. However, this wasn't a big deal since we were at the parks all day. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I'm a single mom on a limited budget with a 12yr old daughter who was so excited to get to FL after school has let out for a whole week. I arrived at the hotel to find that they did not have my reservation updated in their system. Front Desk was extremely nonchalant and completely uniterested that I just wanted to get my luggage, daughter and self into my room to rest up a bit. There was a weak and best a limp attempt to contact my travel agency to get someone to confirm my reservations for a week and I was told to have a seat...after 15 mins I decided to call my agent directly and found out that the problem WAS on Best Western's end in 2 minutes and as soon as I hung up with my agent, TA-DA, I appear in their system. Ok, then I get an "upgrade" for the trouble "free of charge" to one of the rooms with the fireworks view...what an upgrade, it is the ONLY handicapped room they have in the whole hotel (LOL) and I get it with my 12-yr old daughter. The bellman was so sweet and nice and he said you should get another room and I said, uh no!...I'm not going to wait around again for that idiot downstairs, it was such a pain to have the bathroom with no tub but I was so done with the Front Desk and their lack of personality that I didn't even care as long as I could rest and sit. Rooms in general are not impressive and the amenities are a laugh (terrible t.v.) and housekeeping is slow! The restauarant has a great breakfast buffet and the food is pretty good and definitely the service is WAY more friendly than that joke of a Front Desk. The safe was broken and I never went into the bathroom without flip flops on because I don't think housekeeping did anything more than put fresh towels in there. The pool was nice enough but later in the afternoon, they don't pay attention to the towels building up or put clean towels out for you and this service is part of your "resort fee". LOL, I have stayed at a few hotels in Fla and I have to say that this hotel didn't even rank as well as the hotel I stayed in right after Hurricane Charlie and they didn't have t.v. for the entire week at all but oh my gosh, they were soooo nice and helpful! Some training is in order for Best Western's management and front desk dorks! The standard in this hotel is not nice enough to be called a Disney Resort Property Hotel, it lacks lustre, class and general appeal...I am just angry with myself for not going with my first choice and I decided on this one because someone recommended it to me. Never again!

I highly recommend staying here. The room was gorgeous. Bath and Body Works shampoo and soap are provided. Coffeemaker and Royal Cup gourmet coffee and Tea are provided as well. The pillowtop mattresses make it very hard to get up and leave the room. So comfortable!!! The sheets are the really good kind. The pillows are the fluffiest I have ever seen at a hotel. The service was the absolute best. The shuttles to the parks run every half hour from 8:00am till 1 and 1/2 hours after the parks close. Also the shuttles to Downtown Disney run from 6:00pm till around 3:00am. Very safe location. Very pretty lobby area. There is a caricature artist in the lobby in the evenings who will draw a huge (poster size) caricature for you. $10.00 per person. Very lifelike. He also rolls it up very carefully for you and puts it in a poster tube so you can safely carry it home with you. The food in the restaurant is very good. You can eat in the restaurant or get it for takeout to eat in your room. They also have room service if you want that. There are two shops in the lobby. One for souvenirs and one for souvenirs and anything else you might have need of. The souvenir/anything else shop is open late for your convenience. Also if you have to check in late (after you come back from the park for instance) you can check in late. We left our bags in the car and rode the shuttle and checked in when we got back from the park that night. All we had to do was tell them at the front desk. The timeshare people do not hound you like you might have heard. You do receive a free gift pack from them (toothpaste, gum, razor, pepto-bismol sample, shampoo/conditioner samples, etc.) but just say you are not interested in the timeshare and they don't bother you.
