This lodging is RIGHT NEXT to the Kings Dominion amusement park - very, very convenient. The price for my room, non-smoking with two double beds and a microwave and mini-fridge, was just under $70. Very reasonable! The room itself was acceptably clean, the pillows were nice and bouncy (think "huge marshmallow") and weren't funky-smelling, and nothing felt nor looked dirty - the tub was clean and nothing was dusty. The hot water was wonderfully steamy, and the large showerhead made for a very nice wash-up.
Also present were the requisite 4-cup coffeemaker (great coffee, BTW), the in-wall hair dryer, and a nice fullsize steam iron. There are large drawers for your clothing/other belongings, and you also get an in-room safe that could most likely hold a basketball. Next to the front wall, you also have a small table and chair, with a large floor-lamp that provides plenty of light. We had a good-sized nightstand between the beds, and a large lamp on it was suitable for reading in bed. **No lights over each bed, for the die-hard readers - bring a book light!**
However, as another reviewer stated, the air-conditioning never got rid of the humidity, and the room DID smell musty (from being damp all the time) but the air did get cool enough to allow for some good sleep. I advise travelers to bring a tabletop fan, at the least, to help stir the air - it may help ease the discomfort of the humidity.
There was supposedly a continental breakfast provided, but we didn't even look for it. We decided that we wanted a full breakfast, so we had a great morning meal at the on-site Denny's (large, clean, loved it). Kings' Quarters also has a mini-version of UNO's Pizza on site: they make pizza and subs, and are open until midnight, and the prices are very reasonable. The pool looked great (we were too exhausted to try it), there is shuffleboard and tennis available, and there is a small and VERY clean (and camera-surveilled) gameroom next to the small but adequate drinks lounge - I spotted ashtrays, so you can have a smoke with your Scotch.
As for the advertised "free Internet", we skipped even asking about it, since we get our fill of computers at home. For the TV, it worked just fine, you have a remote control, and there was an upright plastic sign sitting on top of the set with the channel listing. **Word of warning to the television-addicted: BRING A TV GUIDE WITH YOU, or pick up a local newspaper to get the TV lineup for that day/night - there is no onscreen guide to the available shows.**
We will definitely stay here again, even if the A/C needs some serious help - it's RIGHT on top of the park, the Denny's is open 24/7, and we felt safe and comfortable. The price is very reasonable, it's located right off I-95 and very close to Route 1, and the staff was very pleasant and communicative.
**If Cedar Fair owned this motel, they'd do well to offer entertainment/lodging packages - they would make a killing!**
