Best Western Island Palms Hotel and Marina - Page 2

The hotel has a wonderful location on Shelter Island, away from the city feel, in a very quaint area with restaurants and convenience and grocery stores nearby. We had a lower level with a patio facing the marina. The ocean was about twenty feet away. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and very well maintained. It was definitely worth the extra money to face the marina, as opposed to the bay view, which has the parking area on that side. It was a very pleasant surprise to find the resort to actually be better than we expected. The entire staff was wonderful and the food and the service at the restaurant were excellent. The pool and the hot tub area was well maintained and attractive, overlooking the marina. This is an awesome hotel! We will be staying there next time we visit San Diego.

This hotel made me feel excited: The view from our room was spectacular! There is a beach right across the street from the hotel that we walked along at night and we got some awesome pictures of the San Diego skyline.

It was a great location. It was a bit pricey, but in line with other hotels in the area. It was close to the city but far enough away that it was not congested.

We went for a convention and we got bumped up to a suite and paid for a regular room. It was very nice. They had a good shuttle to the airport.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. There was not a bad view anywhere. It has a beautiful view of the city and the bay. The rooms are very nice, very clean, and comfortable. Their service is the best, very friendly. My family goes back to this same hotel every year.

The hotel itself was nice. The meetings were held in nice surroundings. I was disappointed in the exercise room size and the amount of equipment. I was also unhappy with the hours of the restaurant and room service. I had to hike a mile or two to find food after my late night arrival. The room was an incredible value though. It was very nice and furnished.

This hotel made me feel sophisticated: The furnishings and the room located next to large yachts made me feel sophisticated.

The reservations and desk staff was very helpful and the room was very clean. My only complaint is that the room was not as well lit as I would like but I find most hotel rooms to have inadequate interior lighting, so this was not a surprise. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. If I get the chance to return to San Diego, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel made me feel content: We had a suite, with an excellent location, for a very good price. Generally I hate traveling and staying in hotels, but this was a wonderful trip and this Best Western hotel contributed greatly to the enjoyment of this trip.

This was our first stay at this hotel, it was very nice and we plan to go back again. It was just the right area and the hotel was very clean and quiet.

This hotel made me feel pampered: My room had lots of pillows and soft plush bed. In addition, it was nice. It had free wireless connection and refreshed often. All my needs were met by front desk.

We waited a long time to check in. There were not enough maids to have the room clean on time. The room was older, and the hall was filthy. The restaurant was good. I had the pork for supper twice, it was fabulous. The location of this hotel is it's best feature. The beach and marina are just steps away. The scenery is gorgeous, and the staff is very courteous. We would stay there again if we got a good deal.

The decor was fun and interesting. The front desk personnel met all of our requests and found us the perfect room for what we needed. The breakfast was excellent and served on a patio overlooking the bay. The value for the price paid was outstanding.
