Best Western Island Palms Hotel and Marina

We wanted to stay in a 4 star hotel centrally located to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. My wife and I chose this hotel from it's room pictures on the website. On our arrival to the Resort we weren't disappointed. As I left my daughter and wife to check in I was greeted by the staff. The Guest Service at check in was top notch. I even upgraded to a junior suite for more room and kitchen amenities. Upon our entry to the room we were flabbergasted on how big the room was and how nice it was. With a view of the marina and an outside patio it was more than what we expected. Do yourself a favor and book a room here you won't regret it! We stayed in the newer section of the hotel at the very end. We felt like we were all alone and no one else was around. Perfect accommodations for anyone traveling or on vacation! I'm looking forward to going back in two months!

This hotel is in a great location. My young daughter and I really enjoyed the pool and the restaurant served good food for a decent price. Our room overlooked the marina which was nice. Service was friendly although maid service woke us up two mornings out of three (even the day we were checking out - they couldn't seem to wait until we had left!). Towels were hard to come by at the pool at night. The rooms are clean and nice but feel a bit dated. I would definitely stay again when I'm in San Diego.

This hotel was extremely accommodating during our recent stay during the San Diego fire evacuations. We stayed there (along with our dog) in a king-size bed room facing the marina/pool. In addition to the hallway entrance, we had a door which exited to a small grassy patio area overlooking the marina. There was a walkway along the marina which was very pet friendly - plenty of areas for dogs to exercise (poop bags provided). There was a large, quiet, lounge area with sofas & tables to read or play table games. The rooms were cheerily decorated and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is in an ideal location with several good restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend this hotel!!

The location is ideal, but the hotel is nice. It is too pricey, though.

I like this hotel very much. We are frequent visitors to this hotel. It is in a very nice location.
