Excellent
I have used this Best Western for clients coming in for trade shows at The Expo Center. You can't go wrong with Best Western. The rooms are clean and the staff is nice.

Okay
The staff was very helpful and nice.Everything in our room was very old. I got soaked trying to turn on the water in the bathroom sink with an ancient look. The price for this hotel was just not in line with the accommodations. The rooms were noisy, ...

First of all I agree with the previous review about the managers, but I will include the Front Desk Manager and the General Manager.
The hotel is always breaking or leaking or not functioning as it should. I have stayed there twice and will not return thats for sure. There are a lot of truck drivers that stayed there and are roaming around and well that freaked me out.
Oh, and the key cards worked only for a moment then we had to go to the FD and get it fixed, that was always a hassle.

It is a good hotel but we had two unfortunate experiences on our last visit. The heater in the room did not work and it could not be fixed. The hotel moved us to a different room. The boiler for the entire hotel quit and no room had hot water for two days. The hotel did the best they could and they gave us the room for half the price. We thought this was reasonable. They do have an excellent breakfast each morning and the rooms are comfortable when everything is working correctly.
There were only three entrances into the building. Two of them were locked at night and required a room key to open them. The main desk was manned all night where new guests had to enter. The room doors had key cards and deadbolt locks inside.
I am very likely
to return to the Best Western Inn At The Meadows.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The manager is an idiot. I will not give the entire situation here, because I do not want to waste too much of my time writing about him. However, I will say that his managing philosophy leaves much to be desired.
He blames the customer for the front desk's mistakes, and thinks that he can manipulate the customer into believing he is doing us a favor by "compensating" us. But his compensations are the same compensations that other business savvy hotel managers wouldn't have hesitated to give us, and theirs would have come without all the arguing and trouble! The manager actually had the nerve to argue with the customer and blame us.
We have stayed at this hotel before, and thought that he would've been nicer because we are return customers. But obviously we were wrong.
I know that all of you that read these reviews think, well maybe we won't have trouble with this hotel and manager. But believe me, if you have any sort of problem, even minor, the manager will not be of any help.

Mediocre
We had a package deal with tickets to Body World, and we asked for the tickets when we checked in. Upon examination, what we were given didn't look like tickets, so the next morning we went to the desk and were given the actual tickets! I wonder if...

They always prove consistency in operation. The prices are highly competitive and the hotel is well maintained. The rooms are always clean and fresh. The continental breakfast is a plus.

The room was large and comfortable except that the window was wide open when we arrived and the room was very cold. The heat did not work and the staff was unable to fix it. We were moved to a business suite which was very nice but the heat didn't adjust well in that room either. The next morning, we both took very cold showers as did everyone in the hotel because the boiler went out. That part was miserable but the breakfast was good with healthy with choices of cereal, yogurt, juices, eggs, French toast, bagels, and canned fruit. The hotel did discount our room by fifty percent for the inconveniences we had. The staff was as helpful as they could be. This is a good location for the Portland Expo Convention Center and downtown activities. We have stayed here before and it has been a good place to stay in the past.
This Best Western had a large parking area in front of the hotel which had plenty of lighting and we could see our car from our room. All of the rooms are accessible only by entering through the front doors or a couple of side doors with your room key. Someone was on duty at the desk throughout the night. The rooms had dead bolt locks for extra protection and a clearly marked exit plan in case of a fire.
