21 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I stayed here with a freind at the end of the sumer season last year and we were both very impressed with this botique style hotel. Reeption staff were very helpful, we found our initial room to be a little on the dark side with no ceiling light in the main bedroom part, but they were more than happy to give us another room. The decoration in the bedrooms is a a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the hotel and the way they look on the hotel website but the rest of the hotel was so comfortable we spent little time in the bedroom. The restaurant was top qualtiy, we ate cooked breakfast and had our evening meal there one night. It is a little pricey but absolutely worth the price. We didn't use the pool at all as the weather was not great on our stay but the pool area looked lovely with big comfotable loungers. The conservatory part of the bar where light lunches are served had beautiful views and was a lovely quite place to sit and have a drink. The location was perfect for us, being far enough out from the main part of Torquay to be quiet but only a short walk or taxi ride to the nightlife. Probably the best part of our stay was the night porter who had a wealth of knowlege about the local area, including ghost stories and kept the drinks flowing at the bar throughout the night! Overall a very stylish and comfortable hotel with friendly staff and good food. We definitely plan to return this year!
