My husband and I are somewhat elderly, and were shocked when we arrived at night at the Best Western to be told they had overbooked and we had to go to another hotel. It was miles away in a shabby part of town with a noisy bar open right next door. The hotel had no carpeting or hot water. We had reserved our reservation with a credit card at the Best Western, so they paid the bill for one night at this hotel, but I thought the guarantee meant we had a guaranteed room! The next day, we were informed that we had to get permission to NOT go back to the Best Western. I am appalled at this treatment and think that should be made clear in their advertising. To make matters worse, we believe that we were chosen to be bumped because we had a senior discount on our room.
