Good alternative to NYC prices – Posted Jun 13, 2008

Good
55 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

Friendly staff, clean rooms with great, great beds and pillows. The rooms were very quiet considering the hotel was on an extremely busy highway. The continental breakfast was extremely nice. Security was very good, you had to have a swipe card to access the hallways to the individual rooms. We didn't use the exercise room, but it did look to be very nice. The entrance to the hotel kinda jumped out at you as you came around a slight curve. Extreme caution is needed to enter and prayers that you don't get rear ended as you slow down to enter. We parked our car and used public transportation back and forth to the city. It got a little expensive, but better than paying NYC hotel prices or trying to drive yourself.

Refused to honor reservation terms – Posted May 10, 2008

Mediocre
49 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

When we checked into the hotel they refused to honor our reservation for non-smoking room (even though it was clearly indicated on our reservation confirmation), stating that the Best Western reservation system had told them this reservation was for a smoking room. They would only offer a non-smoking suite at a 30% premium over our reservation rate. Then then said "this happens all the time" and we should have reserved directly with the hotel, rather than through their own BW system. If it hadn't been 2am, I would have walked out.

The room wasn't awful but was of lower quality than I'd expect at their prices -- more like an Econolodge. Also they were noisy and there was staff noise (chatting loudly in the halls) most mornings. As an incidental aside, the in room coffee was terrible.

I won't be back and would recommend that you look for another choice in the area.
