32 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My family visited Niagara Fall in June of 2008. There was 11 of us and we made no hotel reservations before the trip. We arrived at the falls at about 7:00 on a Monday evening and this was the first place we stopped. Our room was $80.00 a night which was quite reasonable in a tourist town. The room itself looked like it had been recently remodeled. The room was huge and had everything you could ask for. It was very clean and quiet. Everyroomhas a balcony with chairs. There was no view of the falls on our side, but has a good view of the city. Short walk to the falls, skylon, and other attractions. It is located in the quiet part of this tourist town and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

member icon A Nasty Hotel That Will Gouge You

The Best Western Fallsview is a nasty little tourist trap. First, there is no view of Niagara Falls like the name suggests--this is a lie to hook tourists. Our room was tiny, dark, and moldy as a cave. The walls, floors, and fixtures were nasty. The hotel charges guests $10 per day for parking even though a nearby Days Inn gave us free parking. When we paid the bill for our room it totaled $170 for one night! I tried to cancel our room 24 hours in advance of check-in when I saw what a dive it was but the hotel told us we couldn't, even though they surely could have rented our room to another unsuspecting tourist. They should be ashamed of themselves for gouging tourists.

My husband and I have gone to the Best Western Fallsview hotel 3 times in the same amount of years. They say when you like something, you stick to it! The hotel offers good service, clean modest rooms with all that you might need. And if you don't, or if you forgot something, just go to the front desk and ask... The personnel will gladly give you free items (extra soap or shampoo, razor, shaving cream, extra coffee, toothbrush,...) the food at the Apollo Grille Restaurant is quite good, but the service lacks speed. Make sure to go in when the breakfast buffet is on. MMMMM!!! We always take their package deals, so the food is included. The first year we went, we could take anything and everything we wanted from the menu. WoW! The second year, we were very sad to see that we could only pick from a 4 items menu. Too Bad! Still, the food was still good and plentiful.

They will see us again.

We stayed at the Best Western in Niagara Falls, Ontario last summer and our time there wasn't as pleasing as it was at the Radisson Hotel in the same city. While they didn't muck up the billing here and the rooms were clean and tidy, the room smelled awful. You could almost imagine the mould and mildew growing around you. We had to keep our windows and doors open for the night, and most of our night was spent on the outdoor patio our room had, luckily. The beds weren’t very comfortable either, but maybe that was just because it was hard to get comfortable from the smell. This was a last minute trip, too, and because of that the room cost us a whopping $350 for 1 night, so I’d definitely say look around before coming here.

They have a rude staff that wanted to charge for anything and everything. Beware parking costs that are not covered with your room. Our group was hit was a $250 charge for smoking, although the one member of our group who smoked, smoked outside.

Although the hotel is non-smoking there is a terrible musty smell in it. Smoke might actually be an improvement. I tried to take the matter up with Best Western, but they said each hotel was independently owned, and they couldn't do anything.

I stay in many hotels regularly on business (Best Westerns included), and have never run into another place so eager to try and charge you extra, or fine you, for something.

They have terrible customer service, and moldy smelling rooms. Stay away from this place.
