41 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I was extremely impressed by this hotel in terms of location, value for money, customer service and overall stay. Rooms were very very clean, staff was super friendly, location was great as it is easy access whether you need to go to Camp Verde, stay in Cottonwood, go to Jerome and only 15 min. from Sedona. Continental breakfast was very nice.

Would definitely recommend and stay again.

54 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We found the staff at check-in to be friendly. We were staying 2 nights...and had 3 separate rooms. We left hotel on 1st morning after a nice breakfast in hotel. We went sightseeing and returned to our nice clean OPEN room about 12 hours later. Luckily all of our things were in place-nothing was stolen. I went down to see the manager immediately-to report it. His reaction was "the doors stick-this happens all the time". He said he would report it to the morning people.

That night, at approximately 11 pm, my niece and her family were awakened by 2 men walking into their room. The men were given a key to my niece's room...the maid, the night person said, told them the room was empty-everything was out of it. We laughed, since my niece has a VERY active 2 year old and his things were ALL over the room when we left.

The next AM, I talked to the manager/assistants on duty. The night clerk had NOT reported the open door incident. I assured her that we did not leave it open, since housekeeping came while we were away. They apologized...but we will never stay at this hotel again!

Family of 4 with 2 adjoining rooms for 3 days. Supposedly non-smoking rooms smelled of smoke. Toilet in one room extremely slow and clogged. They brought a plunger which we had to use after every flush. baby roaches in tub. Had to use hotel shampoo on 1st nite and empty, uncapped bottle remained on tub edge for entire stay, indicating that the bathrooms were not cleaned. A/C worked great, front desk staff very friendly. Adjacent Mexican restaurant clean and very good food.

46 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I stay at this hotel by choice, one to four nights a week. I first chose this hotel because a Mexican food restaurant sits on a pad in the parking lot. I have since continued to stay here because all the staff are very friendly, helpful and professional.

The rooms are large and clean. Parking is good, and there is a laundry in a pinch. I am a business owner, and appreciate hearing about my business. This is a non-biased opinion from someone who stays at this hotel a lot.

The price is comparable to the Days Inn down the road and you get quite a lot more. I will continue to book my stays in this hotel even though I only work about 20% in Cottonwood, and 80% in Camp Verde.

Stay Away

I used to be a frequent visitor, but after a nightmare weekend, never again will I stay here. I stayed in the most expensive rooms at the hotel (the pricey casitas) and in less than 48 hours I had to move twice. First the A/C went out (in June), then the next room was invaded by ants (dozens came through an obvious crack in the tile). Not only did the manager, and her secretary, refuse to properly rectify the situation (they only took $10.00 off a $236.00 bill), but the manager kept me waiting in the lobby for over half an hour at the end of my stay and refused to speak to me in person.

The front desk staff and housekeeping personnel tried their best to be helpful, but with such terrible upper management, they are limited in what they can do. I swore I would never stay there again, and I haven't. The last two times I have visited the Verde Valley since that nightmare in June, I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Camp Verde (~15 miles from Cottonwood). It's much more professionally managed and less expensive. It's also quicker access to the main freeway (Interstate 17). If you stay at the Best Western and something goes wrong, do not expect management to care about it or do anything to entice repeat business! Stay away!

I am not likely to return to the Best Western Cottonwood Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.
