Best Western Chicago West Hotel - Page 1

American Airlines sent me here. I thought West was for Westin----NOT! After it took taxi driver 45 minutes to find from airport, a friendly check-in but basically a dump. If you stay, take their cold shower to get rid of the cooties.

I have family from out of town and for the past 5 years they have been staying at this hotel when they visit. This stay was terrible. They checked in at 7:00pm on a Saturday and it took them 35 minutes to get a room. Once in the room they found that it had not been cleaned. It took the front desk another 30 minutes to find a clean room. One of the staff was actually checking rooms to determine if they were clean. We were told the cleaning staff had left earlier in the day. The front desk staff were rude and showed poor customer service.

I will be finding another hotel for my family to stay at when they visit.

Stay away

We checked in around 8:30 p.m. and was told that they have no food service at that time of night. We would get breakfast with our room. We could not even get coffee. Room has newer furniture but no extra. We had coffee pot in the room but no regular coffee. We lost electricity during the night and had NO LIGHTS anywhere. Not in the hall, stairs or outside. VERY DANGEROUS.

The next morning we went to get breakfast at 9:10 a.m. and was told that they only had service from 6:30 to 9:00 a.m. I can see this during the week but on a weekend when family's are there, they like to sleep in. We were never told what the hours were. Other couple went to the breakfast and they had 2 types of juice, apples and a loaf of bread.

I was at this same hotel about 4 years ago and it seems to have changed hands. They have taken a nice hotel and turned it into a low class stop. I would rather have gone across the street and stayed at the Motel 6. It would have been worth the money.

STAY AWAY

My car was broken into and the front desk acted like it was my fault for parking in the back parking lot instead of right in front of the desk. There were no spots open there! I could understand my car being broken into, it happens. But they promised a secure parking experience.

To top things off the room they gave me wasnt even clean. It happens I understand so I go down to the front desk and they give me another room. This one was clean it seemed, till I lifted up the blanket and found a condom on the sheets. The maid didn't even change the sheets! I went to the front desk to complain but they said that they couldn't determine if it was mine or from the guest before. What kind of comment is that?

Never ever stay at this hotel. There are 4 hotels within walking distance of this place and any of them even the MOTEL 6 would be better!

my family and i used to check in on this hotel. we enjoyed the indoor pool during the winter months but recently , during fall the good service stopped . there were no towels available near the pool, not enough lights during the nightswimming and poor customer service, you have to wait foerever for someone to answer or come for service. we found out that they have changed management and it was not affiliated with best western anymore. i am not planning to come back or recommend this hotel.
