I like to stay in a clean room. I pay for conveniences, not inconveniences. This place was nasty -- dirt, grunge, mold. The phone didn't work and was told by the man at the front desk he'd look into it. He never did.

Horrible
this hotel was not what I will ever expect. The rooms were dirty, they had no fitness center, on the very tip of the shower curtain in the bathroom there was the worst mildew I have ever smelled.There bathrooms were suites- but not a good kind of...
35 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The only positive was the very friendly and accommodating staff. Everything else was awful: when I called to make a reservation I couldn't get the price I saw on the website unless I booked THROUGH the website (strange); when I got to the hotel, even though I had a confirmation code with me my reservation was nowhere to be found and there were no more king bed rooms, only rooms with two double beds (annoying); the hallway carpets were stained and wallpaper was coming off the walls (gross); the room itself appeared clean at first until I found that one of the pillows wasn't a pillow at all but a sown up bag of COTTON BALLS (WTF??); AND the nail in the Charleston Plaza Hotel's coffin: I pulled back the sheets of one bed to find a BUG, and I pulled back the sheets of the other to find other people's HAIRS everywhere.
As wonderful as the staff was, I can safely say that under NO circumstances will I ever return here.
