Best Western Central Phoenix Inn Hotel

This hotel was reasonably priced. The hotel was not located in the best area of Phoenix. The room was dirty and stinky. The carpeting was very dirty and the room was poorly lit. Both the exercise room and the pool were very outdated.

It was ok for just a quick nine hour stay.

The service at the restaurant was amateurish. The desk workers had little knowledge of local restaurants and attractions.

This hotel made me feel important: The local pickup at airport was handled well. The desk person called on cell phone to direct us where to meet the van.

The stay was supposed to be a romantic type of weekend. Champagne and roses were in the room as arranged. The roses were nearly dead and the champagne was sitting in water (no ice). There was no air conditioning and the room was really hot. The restaurant was under repair and we were not told this when we made our reservation, so there was no food. The bar was not open either. The people at the front desk didn't know anything about where we could get pizza. We checked out early the next day and were charged the full price ($200) for a most unpleasant stay. Nobody at the front desk even asked us why we were checking out early. They didn't care.

The hotel was centrally located but the amenities were not as advertised on Travelocity or in the AAA guide. There were supposed to be microwaves and fridges in the rooms but there were only these amenities in the higher priced rooms. There was supposed to be a complimentary newspaper and the clerk told me there was no such thing. When I showed her the advertisement in AAA she shrugged her shoulders and told me there was a newspaper machine out in the driveway where I could purchase a paper. The free breakfast was in the restaurant with wait staff, which meant that the wait staff had to be tipped. Because there was a wait staff, ordering the breakfast also took much longer than a buffet, which is normal for a hotel with a free breakfast. The room was sweltering when I arrived and never completely cooled while we were there. We waited 55 minutes for the shuttle even though we called and were told it would be there shortly.
