Best Western Central Florida Motel

From the moment we arrived, we had issues with this hotel. We travel a lot and have stayed at many different chains. Usually the star rating is accurate and you can base your experience off of that. Not in this case!!! Orbitz never sent our reservation to the hotel and the front desk clerk was not friendly at all. She was almost rude and told me to go and call Orbitz and have them send it over. She had horrible customer service skills. The night watchman was much nicer than she was, and kept apologizing to us for our problems. But, the girl never did. She never smiled or tried to make our wait pleasant. After an hour of phone calls and computer research, we finally were able to check in. Luckily for us the hotel had rooms available because our room had been completely paid for when we booked the reservation.

The room was supposed to be Non-smoking but smelled to high Heaven. We had to open the door and air it out for a good while in order to sleep. The sheets smelled dirty--they didn't smell like clean laundry at all. There were stains on both beds' sheets. A little scary. The beds were very hard. I like a firm mattress, and even I woke up with a backache from the beds. The shower was not nice either. It was clean, but the shower had no pressure. The water came out the head and fell straight down. You had to stand directly under the head in order for it to hit you. No adjustments would help.

The continental breakfast had a nice variety--frozen waffles, frozen pancakes, fruit, cereal, bagels, and danish. But, the dining area is very crowded. You have to stand and wait for a turn at the one microwave and you have to hold onto the toasters (which are positioned on top of the microwave) to keep them from falling back behind the microwave. They are plugged into a short power strip and the weight of the strip is heavier than the toasters. It is a fire hazard in my opinion.

We will never stay in this hotel again and probably will never stay in a Best Western again. The last 2 Best Westerns we have stayed in have not been nice at all.

It was good, all I wanted was a place to sleep.

When we arrived, the person at the front desk was very rude and he said that he could not find our reservation. Instead of calling the customer service, he gave us the number. They had our reservation and they instructed the guy at the front desk to accept our certificate. I was just really amazed at how rude the front desk person was.
