The Daytona Beach area is famous for miles and miles of pristine beaches and I found them to be clean and well maintained. There were also plenty of lifeguards. You can rent anything you may need for a fun beach day such as umbrellas, chairs, golf carts, boogie boards and more. You don't even have to leave the beach when you get hungry. There are plenty of beach vendors serving made to order burgers and fries along with ice cream and cold drinks.
There is plenty to do in the area if you can get the kids off the beach that is! The hotel is located in Ormond Beach only a stone's throw from the boardwalk area and very close to great dining options including directly across the street from an IHOP and a cute German restaurant. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves breakfast only. Upscale room and linens, underground parking, private balcony, frig, mirowave and huge pool makes this a hotel I can easily recommend. This hotel is also close to mini-golf and grocery store.

On the plus side the room was wonderfully furnished and clean. The pool area also had the nicest furniture I've ever seen at a hotel. However, the hotel was filled to capacity and only one of the 2 elevators was working .The computer in the lobby was down. the refrigerator in the room was not working. Worst of all, tho, was the incident I heard in the room next to mine. Name calling, throwing, screaming for hours on end. I contacted the front desk as I was concerned the woman was going to be injured. It simply went on and on. $25 was removed from my bill, but I spent much of the night frightened and sleepless.

I have stayed at this hotel several times while vacationing in Fla and you can not beat the price for what you get in the rooms. The beds are very comfortable, the fully equipped kitchen is a nice convenience to have for those who wish to save money ...

Loved the spacious room! It was elegantly decorated, and clean, clean, clean. What more can you ask for on the beach? The staff was always helpful, and happy. Out door pool was heated, and large. Fire pit was the perfect evening hang out. We will be back to the Castillo Del Sol!
I stayed here 4 times as the IVANHOE. This renovation was excellent. The rooms were great.The view outstanind.I disliked all handicapped parking being near the lobby. There should be some near to the elevator.

This was the best deal we have gotten in a while. The rooms were brand new and not overpriced at all. We arrived before check in time and the front desk clerk got us in a room right away. Our room looked directly at the ocean from our own balcony....
We stayed here as a walk in, and loved it. Yes they are going through renovations, at some points during the day it was a little noisy, and there was some dust. However O my gosh the rooms!!!!!
