Our baseball team was in Myrtle Beach for a tournament and we were required to stay in their approved hotels. We finally decided on the Carolinian. It proved to be an excellent choice. The rooms were clean and nicely furnished. I didn't use the pool at all, and I don't think any of our group did, but it seemed to be nice enough. My only quibble is the price, but I guess that's what the going rate is for this time of year.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Best Western Carolinian Beach Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
40 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
Absolutely loved the view and the beach. Upon arriving to hotel, had to wait an additional 45 minutes for room, check in was 4pm, room wasn't available until 4:45pm. Bought groceries to return and find out the refrigerator was not working properly, called desk to get it fixed, took about 14 hours before it was fixed. Called desk for towel pick up and delivery, they picked up my towels but didn't deliver any. Called to get towels and was told they were out. Did not get any towels until the next day. My kids got stuck in the elevator, had to call for help. I was witness to a group of people stuck in the elevator located at the parking garage. Fold out bed in living room area are nothing but springs. If you plan to use this to sleep, bring a lot of extra blankets and perhaps a blow up mattress. Blankets are on a first come, first serve basis and they ran out so be prepared to ask early. They told me that all the mattresses are the same. Ask about cookwear before you arrive. My room had a pot, a pan and a few spoons and forks. Another family there had nothing to cook with so I assume every room is different. Be prepared for the little things you would assume to be in every room. My family received a complimentary breakfast for the remainder of our stay but was originally offered a discount that was later rescinded because we paid in cash. They can not give any kind of refunds if you pay in cash. The view and the beach outweighed the little inconveniences, but you will have a much nicer time if you are prepared for the inconveniences.
