If you are accepting recommendations, I would like to recommend against staying at the Best Western at Longwood Medical Center in Boston, MA. We stayed overnight on 7/30/06 anticipating some rest in preparation for a surgical procedure the following day.
There was a suite adjacent to our fifth floor room that was being operated as a nursery, and came along with all the crying babies one might expect in a nursery, but not in a hotel suite. Once the nursery closed for the night, we were greeted by rats coming under the bathroom door. The hotel offered to send up a man with traps!
With great difficulty, we finally were offered to move into another room on an upper floor roughly 12 hours after we checked in. With no more screaming babies and no visible rats, we were able to get a few hours rest prior to leaving for the hospital at 6:30 the following morning. Despite discussions to the contrary, we were billed at full price, and no one from the hotel ever contacted me as promised. I contacted the Best Western International Customer Service Center. They confirmed that we would receive a 20% discount for being so understanding about their rats and day care center. If health is a consideration, I would not recommend this Best Western Hotel as a nursery any more than I would as a hotel.
