Their service was so awful and their personnel were so rude I wouldn't send my dog there. I sent my 22-year-old daughter there for her first vacation (without the family). The staff actually made a joke out of all of their requests, did not clean room, and yelled so loudly at her girlfriend, that she brought her to tears. The television had smoke coming out of the back, there was no breakfast as advertised, the shower head allowed approximately three to four drops of water out at a time, and they charged $60.00 fee for what they had advertised as free transportation. I have always been able to trust the Best Wester name, however, this was a nightmare!!!

I loved the availability to local shops, dining restuarants and the whole casualness of Pacific Beach.
The Blue Sea Lodge was very comfortable and the sound of the ocean nightly made for an astounding experience..The hot tub was awesome and the only partial drawback was the
weekdays the pool was not heated..The beach was just across the board walk and made the beach accessible in mere minutes. A nightly fire juggling act upon night fall
right up the beach from the hotel was delightful and worth viewing repeatedly. A parking pass made returning to the lodge easy after a full day trip...Unbelieavable access to freeway access and just minutes from Balboa Park and down town San Diego!

We paid $300/night for a lovely ocean view, a subpar room. Air conditioner did not work, then the staff was rude about fixing it. They were at the "mercy" of their air conditioning contractor. The queen size couch/pull out bed mattress consisted of a set of metal bed coils wrapped in cloth.
I expected more than an ocean view for this price.

Awesome location.Should have had an option for continental breakfast. Very nice location. No problems checking in late or parking (though parking might be a problem if it is a peak travel season). Decently maintained rooms.

Great location by the beach.Parking was too crowded. The stay was pleasant. The only thing was the parking space. It was so crowded it was hard to get our things out of the car once we were parked. We had to back up the car to be able to get in.
Very convenient! Right on the beach.

Very convenient! Right on the beach. Younger part of town.Appeared much older from the outside! Don't let the outside of the building fool you- the inside is very nice, attractive, and comfortable. The parking spaces are small- recommend compact car ...

I thought this hotel was very nice, attractive, and well kept! Loved the room decor. It looked as though someone with design experience designed the room decor. The furniture, flat screen TV and even bathroom faucet made the room look very classy....
