My husband and I recently stayed in your establishment. We arrived on July 10, 2007 and were planning to stay until July 12, 2007. On the evening of July 10th when we checked in the desk clerk told my husband about a tour into Juarez, Mexico that left the hotel at 9 the following morning. We requested he make reservations and proceeded to our room. The room was very cramped, smelled of a strong cleaner, and the bed seemed to have some kind of plastic coating on it which made it very hot to sleep on, and the a/c worked poorly.
The following morning we went to the lobby to have breakfast at around 8:15. Upon arrival we found there were only 2 prepackaged 4 inch danish a few bananas, and some cereal. Both waffle irons were in disrepair. The timer on one did not light up and the timer on the other one did not work. If memory serves, breakfast was to be served until 9:00 am. What were the people who arrived later supposed to eat? My husband was disgusted as we had made plans to take the tour bus and now did not have the time to go out and get a breakfast. When we spoke with the attendant, she told us to complain to the front desk. She followed us out of the dining area and as soon as we voiced a complaint she spoke to the desk clerk and they proceeded to have a conversation in Spanish, which neither I nor my husband are fluent in. Both the desk clerk and attendant spoke passable English and I found their speaking Spanish to be extremely rude. Needless to say we decided to cancel our reservation for that night and the tour, which at this point was to leave in less than 20 minutes.
Along with this letter to you I am sending a complaint to AAA along with a copy of this letter. Your ad states expanded continental breakfast, and this certainly is not so.
AAA gave you two diamonds, I give you minus two.
My husband and I have stayed in many hotels over the years and this ranks as one of the worst.
