I got this off Priceline.com and it's not that cheap. At about $40 plus a night, it's definitely more costly than other hostels. However, I liked the fact that it's so close to downtown Boston. I could walk to Boston Commons and begin the Freedom Trail in about 15 minutes or less! It's really near the "T" as well. So commuting wasn't a problem at all.
The room was nice and clean. And though I had to share a common bathroom, that was well maintained, too. The building was old, so things inside were old too, but the staff does put in a lot of effort in decorating the place.
There's no free internet though, you need to pay. But lots of facilities are available: pool table, books, some exercise equipment, lounges, etc.
Most importantly, breakfast is included. And it's a really good breakfast. You get to have bread, cereal, fruits, juice and coffee/tea/hot chocolate and eggs ordered to cook! It's a really nice feeling to wake up to.
And the staff is really friendly and helpful, too! That's a big plus!
