Fabulous experience. In March of 2005 we took a chance on this hotel (have often stayed at the Marriott South Beach a few blocks north) because we were looking for a place we could escape to that would make traveling with a 5 month old easy. This place was perfect - the one-bedroom suite had a kitchen that made eating in and feeding the baby so easy, and it included a "mini-bar" in the real-sized fridge, and dishes/pots/pans. There is no on-site restaurant or room service, so you have to go out for food, and there are no big grocery or pharmacies nearby, so it is a several block walk (or drive) to any of that. No problem as long as you know. It is very quiet in the hotel as well as on the beach, because it is quite far south. Very nice as an escape, and still quite close to lots of night life in South Beach (just a few blocks). The rooms are luxurious, with marble, wonderful sheets and really amazing bathroom. Top of the line, and quite new so still very fresh. We had a balcony that was enormous, and the view was spectacular for sunrise (yes, we saw the sunrise, we had a baby, remember?). If you like luxury in your room, good service, and to be right on the beach, without crowds, this is THE PLACE for you. If you want a fun hotel bar, great room service, a crib, a highchair, or the ability to roast a turkey and have all the trimmings, this is not the place. This would be a wonderful honeymoon retreat, as long as you bring your own food!
