In short, I think I got the worst room in the building. There was chicken wire on the window with a view of the broilers. The refrigerator was broken and had old food in it- so it smelled awful! I could not get a hold anyone at the front desk to take care of it that night, or bring me cold bottled water, so I had to report it the next morning. The coffee was not replenished the next day and when I got back to my room from meetings at 4, my room was still not clean so I worked in the lobby. I will never stay there again.

Mediocre
Discounted rooms mean that you get an inferior room. Woke to what we thought was an earthquake, until it happened again about an hour later. Found out the hotel had located us next to a freight elevator which literally made the whole room shake. ...

I loved The Benson. So many hotels look exactly the same these days - it was so nice to stay in a hotel with some charm and history. The staff was outstanding (especially our waiter at breakfast) and I was made to feel very welcome. My room was...

This was a pleasurable stay. The hotel is in the middle of downtown, convenient to shopping and dining. Also, the atmosphere was incredible, as the building is a historic building.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Benson Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We like the Benson hotel, it is a beautiful hotel, but the rooms are very small compared to other downtown hotels in the same price range and the morning time room service breakfast, where you fill out the slip and leave it on the door, is always a little cold.
The room view of downtown Portland made me feel relaxed.
I am very likely
to return to the Benson Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
