Bearskin Lodge on the River

Bearskin Lodge on the River is a great place to stay in the Great Smoky Mountains. Situated on the river, some of the rooms overlook the Little Pigeon River, although there is some noise from the main street as the hotel is set just off from it. The rooms are comfortable and come with a fireplace and hot tub which makes a great addition to most room amenities! There is a small breakfast room serving the usual fare and the hotel also has a pool, which although nice, is very small and also a lazy river, which I didn't have time to try. The hotel is a block away from the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are numerous activities nearby like hiking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding as well as downtown shops, restaurants and Tanger Outlets Shopping.
