45 year old with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The location is great. Just a few minutes walk to the Santa Monica Pier and 3rd St. Promenade. About 15 walk along the boardwalk to Venice Beach. The hotel is older but the outside and inside have been redone. Rooms were very clean with modern furnishings. Flooring and bathrooms were updated also. Very pleased with the stay overall. Certain rooms don't have air conditioners which is also why room rates are different for the same room. Only drawback is the parking. They have about 20 spaces and it's first come first serve. Office is happy to help you locate another but it might not be free or you might have to move it early for metering or street cleaning. Very happy with stay and would recommend highly.

Location is the best attribute of this hotel. Rooms are OK (more motel style).
The big con is that it doesn't have air conditioning, so in Summer is not recommended. Streets are kind of noisy to sleep with the windows open, but again is a good affordable option to be right in front of the beach.

Okay
Had ocean view room which have no air-cond. Dbl. bed w/hardly any room to move around; stained chair & asked for another, they never brought one; 19" tv. We stayed at 4 hotels along the coast, this was the most expensive & smallest w/least...

Fantastic location for us, very near the convention center. Rooms are small, but it is a older hotel. It is kept up. Towels were flufy and the room was queit.
The bed was too hard for me. I always need an extra blanket. Each room has 2 chairs and a table right outside the room.

Quaint and clean, I really liked this motel. We walked everywhere, to the Pier, great nearby restaurants and stores. We felt safe at night. A comfortable room and nice service. We would rather stay here than at Lowes if you can believe that. ...

This place is very nice and very clean. It is nothing special from the outside and the rooms are not amazing but it is cheap ($80 for smallest room) close to the beach (but a 5min walk to the Pier even though it seems close) and near Shutters so...
