The Barcelo Rincon is located within walking distance of all the great shopping, restaurants, and museums. There is a little restaurant in the hotel that provides an excellent complimentary breakfasts. There is an excellently priced seafood restaurant within a few blocks and a nice Lebonese restaurant on the central street going into downtown. The rooms are comfortable and include television, private bathrooms and hot water showers. Prices are reasonable: $50-$60. Tne concierge will arrange taxis for you and give you directions (in English if needed). This hotel is a great place to start you trip in Costa Rica. I wouldn't spend more than a day in San Jose, though. Its a good place to replenish your supplies, go to a casino, go dancing, and get in a hot shower. Usually, most people want to get out to the smaller towns, beaches, rainforest, and jungles of Costa Rica. There is no swimming pool here. You need to get out to the beaches in Costa Rica! My favorites are Cahuita and Puerto Viejo on the Atlantic side. Corcovado State Park on the Pacific side is an excellent palce to go. You can catch a small plane from San Jose to Corcovado. Your plane lanes on a dirt rode by the beach. Your luggage is loaded on a horse cart and you walk 45 minutes down the beach past flocks of scarler macaws and green iguanas to the Corcovado Tent Camp Lodge. This is a great place. Each person has a hammock by the beach and a boogie board! This will be my next review.
