with a budget, traveling for business

This place is not in the best shape, and it's nickel & dime all the time.

I checked in around noon (huge line), and was told that I would not be able to get into my room until after 4pm. However, if I wanted to upgrade to a room in the "newly renovated tower" for an extra $20 per night, I could check in immediately. I bit.

This "newly renovated" room had stained walls, worn carpets, a television from the early 1990s, and no WI-FI. Internet consists of a short cord on the desk for $12.99 per day.

The old-style TV furniture does not allow the television to tilt toward the desk, so forget about watching TV and working on the internet at the same time. And one cannot plug in a laptop at the desk without unplugging something else.

Was the late check-in and renovation claim just a ploy to get another $20 per night? Hmmmmmm?

And the fees continue. For example, if you want to use the gym, it's an extra $23 a day. If you dare to make a phone call, it's $1.25 + $.20 per minute after 30 minutes.

The pool is closed (you'll have to use the one over at Paris) and the windows in the rooms encrusted with dirt. There is still a view, but it kind of cheapens things.

In my view, this hotel is trying to sneak attack its customers with fees and reduced services. For $130/night during weekdays (plus an extra $50 or so per day in fees), one could probably do better down the street.

56 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

Have been to Vegas many times and mostly stay at Bally's. They are very accomodating and we always have a great time when there. I think the rooms were always neatly cleaned and the staff was always very pleasant. I am looking forward to being there again in the next couple of days.

28 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We recently went to Bally's to spend a family vacation and let me tell you...Bally's was just play awful.

Service was bad and understaffed

Room was dirty and not made at time of arrival

5 security officers stopped us ...harrased us...called us drunks when not intoxicated.....for just sitting on a bench?????

Overall Ballys use to be a great casino 5 years ago..now it is a big piece of you know what. It is time to destroy it and make way for something new.

** STAY AWAY and go to Platium down the street.

2008 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I really cannot think of anything negative to say about Bally's. I was there in January 2007. The room was nice. Check-in was fine. I had fun and encountered no problems. This is another fine hotel casino that I highly recommend!

I am very likely to return to the Bally's Las Vegas.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

44 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I left my wallet and car keys in the back of the dresser. When I remembered (several hours after checking out) management said that since they had already rented the room there was nothing they could do except leave a message and hope the person in the room would call back.

They said they could not go in the room without permission, not even security. (I stated that maid service went in every day?) I was in dire straights because my flight was soon and just by pure luck the person came back to their room, received the message, and called back. Otherwise I would have had to fly home without my wallet and find a way home from the airport.

The very, very young manager was apologetic but not helpful at all. I will never stay there again.
